Oral Health

Schools and school nurses can play a role in enhancing children's oral health. Through education, screening, and preventative care we can improve oral health for all people in Maine.

Prevention Works is a program that we offer at Reeds Brook Middle School. Services provided include: dental cleanings, sealants, fluoride, temporary fillings and silver diamine fluoride (which helps in stopping decay) to students that do not have a dental home. Forms will be sent out at the beginning of the year and are attached below.

The School Oral Health Program is another program we offer at Reeds Brook Middle  School.   A health professional will provide a free oral health screening, a visual inspection of the mouth to identify disease, and apply a fluoride varnish treatment during school hours. This program does not take the place of routine dental examinations. A report of findings and recommendations will be sent home with your student after services are performed. Forms will be sent out at the beginning of the year and are attached below.
